I got into this the hard way…

I loved my job as a manager with a major beverage distributor and life was good!

One day they decided that a re-structuring was in order… and that my position would be eliminated.  At that point I was forced to re-interview for a position that was 2 steps lower than I was previously at plus take a pay cut from 55k per year to about 45k per year.  I did not feel like I had much of a choice so I practiced, practiced, practiced for the interview and actually got that terrible new position.  But I was no longer happy, satisfied, or even financially close to where I needed to be.
